  1. You select the number of sales and reviews you’d like via our book promotion form. See “How Do I Reach the Best Seller Charts?” for more information on selecting the number of sales to reach your target goal.
  2. Promos will run 1-2 weeks from the date of the order, unless you have a specific promo date request (available on the order form).
  3. If your book is priced above $2.99, a small supplement will be payable via invoice after you complete your order – see “Why Do I Need to Reduce The Price of My Book?” in the FAQs for complete details. Prices need to be set for 2 weeks from the promotion date.
  4. We’ll inform you when the promo is set to run so you have time to change your categories or price, if necessary.

  6. Sales-only promotions take 1-5 days to complete, while review promotions take 1-4 weeks to complete from the promotion date.

Here’s how to best use our order form:

  • Choose at least 75 sales to reach the Amazon Best Seller list.
  • Add a Category & Keyword Assessment for the best chance of ranking high in your category.
  • 200+ sales will likely reach #1 in your category.
  • 150+ sales will likely reach #5 or higher.
  • 75+ sales will likely reach the top #20.
  • Sales from Review promotions count towards this total. So if you get a 50 Sales promotion and 25-30 Reviews, that would total 80 sales overall.

Readers are much more likely to purchase a book in a newsletter marketing campaign if the book has been discounted, so it is highly recommended that you price your book $.99-$2.99 for the length of the promotion. Normally this requires a book to be reduced for 4 weeks, after which you can raise the price again. We will inform you of the dates you’ll need to lower the price.

While we do not advise this, if you prefer to not raise the price, you can pay a small supplement. For sales-only promotions, books must be a maximum price of $4.99, and review promotions can be priced up to $9.99, with an incremental supplement of $1.50 per unit for prices over $2.99:

$3.99 = $1.50 per sale
$4.99 = $3 per sale
$5.99 = $4.50 per sale…

For example, an 8-10 Reviews package at $4.99 (10 sales at $3 per sale) would require a $30 supplement.

If your book must be priced higher than $4.99 for sales promos, or higher than $9.99 overall, please contact us.

Marketing packages take 1-4 weeks to schedule, but we will try our best to accommodate requests for a specific promo date.

Sales packages take 1-5 days to complete after the promotion date. Review packages take 1-4 weeks to complete as readers read the book. We have no direct contact with readers, per Amazon’s Terms & Conditions, so this time frame is not in our control, but reviews normally take no more than 6 weeks to complete, and start coming in after 2-3 days.

You can find a selection of our previous best seller promotion results on this page. Examples of reviews can be provided on request. We have run these promotions hundreds of times with reliable and repeatable results.

Examples of editorial reviews can be found on The Independent Review of Books.

Definitely. We are not doing anything outside of Amazon’s Terms, as we are marketing the book to real customers who will read and review the book. These aren’t “paid reviews,” which is the process of buying 5-star reviews in bulk. These are impartial, honest reviews from real Amazon customers.

Amazon takes issue with biased reviews, while the reviews garnered from our promotions are from everyday readers, via a newsletter, which is a common and authorized practice for marketing books.

Yes, our newsletter marketing promotions are aimed specifically at Amazon.com customers, so you will need to have a Kindle edition available for our promotions to be effective. We generally recommend concentrating your promotional efforts on Amazon.com, as they have the largest customer base, and your reviews from Amazon US will display on all other Amazon sites.

We cannot fully guarantee results due to the differences among books, such as the quality of the writing or quality of the cover. Furthermore, guaranteeing results is against Amazon’s terms. However, the vast majority of our promotions do reach their target within our standard timescale.

If your promotion is taking longer than expected, we will give it another push, but keep in mind that certain books can take longer than others to reach their target, such as technical non-fiction.

There are many newsletter marketing sites available, but Bookvertiser runs on a very different model:

  • Bookvertiser takes on almost every book with no pro-approval necessary, which is not something other newsletter sites ever do. Most take a fraction of the books submitted.
  • Bookvertiser provides only Verified Customer Reviews, which many sites do not. Other services will provide a free download of the book for review, which is against Amazon’s terms. At Bookvertiser, readers from our mailing list will purchase the book.
  • Bookvertiser will get the advertised number of reviews and sales (at least the minimum shown), so you can be assured what a promotion will achieve at the very start. There is no sense of scheduling a promotion and hoping for the best, as can be the case with other marketing services.

By all means, you can schedule another promotion in addition to a Bookvertiser promotion, as they can be effective, but you won’t receive the kind of reliable review and sales numbers that you can with a Bookvertiser promotion.

We have compiled a list of readers interested in different genres and who have a greater inclination for leaving reviews. We send out targeted emails that result in Verified Customer Reviews – a review that is listed as a Verified Purchase on Amazon, more highly valued in the Amazon algorithm.

We offer two types of Newsletter Marketing: Review Promotions, which are aimed at achieving Verified Customer Reviews, and Best Seller Promotions, which are aimed at achieving a high category rank on Amazon with 75 sales or more.

Our newsletter marketing service works in a similar way to BookBub, but with two major differences: There is no pre-approval process, so you can be assured a promotion will take place, and we don’t stop promoting your book until we reach the target goal, so you will know upfront what a promotion will achieve. Additionally, BookBub only targets readers, and not specifically avid reviewers.

Of all forms of book promotion, newsletter marketing is the most immediately effective for increasing book sales and reviews. The click-through rate for newsletters is much higher than other forms of promotion, such as social media advertising, as authors can reach readers directly. However, many authors struggle to build and monetize a newsletter following. Even an author with a large following can’t send out a newsletter too often or else risk losing subscribers. Our database of highly engaged readers can be accessed at any time of the year.

Yes. If you’d like us to schedule the promotion for your book release date or other time, please let us know the genre and book description when you make your order.

Keep in mind that you won’t be able to edit the categories of a book on pre-order until after the book is published. If you are ordering a package with 75 sales or more, it is generally recommended to schedule your promo after the release date to avoid this issue. Additionally, reviews will not be able to go up until after the book is released.

As we are marketing to actual customers, their response to your book is entirely out of our control. Generally, people who sign up for our email lists have shown an interest in the type of books we’re marketing to them, so you won’t find the type of scathing reviews you can sometimes see online. In our experience, reviews are usually 3 stars or more, with the bulk in the 4-5 range, as these are enthusiastic readers.

Negative reviews can have a beneficial effect on book marketing, as customers don’t normally trust a book that only has 5-star reviews. A mixture of 3-5 star reviews shows that the book has been read by honest readers.

While we promote the vast majority of fiction and non-fiction, we do reserve the right to not promote a book at our discretion.
